1) Why choose our services over a firm of accountants?
- Considerably lower fees, so a much more cost effective solution.
- Rather than simply appearing once a year to produce accounts and tax calculations, we guarantee a 'professional presence' throughout the year, providing not only a bookkeeping service, but also astute financial analysis which necessarily underpins the successful day-to-day management of a business.
- We are able to perform most of the tasks required by small businesses, including VAT and PAYE compliance, all at a very favourable cost compared to a firm of accountants. (Regarding limited companies, click here)
2) How much do you charge?
As each business varies in its requirements, it is not possible to quote a general fee level. However, we always agree an hourly rate in advance and in certain cases it may be possible to quote a fixed (eg monthly) fee. Where ongoing bookkeeping services are being provided we will of course bill on a regular (eg monthly or quarterly) basis so that clients can budget their finances. We place great importance on honest and open communication in this connection, so if, for example, it's felt that circumstances are changing significantly in terms of the work required we always inform our clients in advance of increased charges and the reasons for them.
3) Why should I choose Accubooks Ltd?
- We pride ourselves on the highly personalised and friendly service we offer.
- We place great importance on the maintenance of accounting records which are accurate and fully compliant.
- Our service goes beyond simply maintaining financial records; we also produce meaningful and clearly understandable financial analysis which helps business owners/managers to understand the financial status of their business. Where our clients want to truly succeed, especially in challenging economic conditions, the importance of this aspect of our work cannot be over-emphasised.
- We are also able to prepare year-end accounts (see year-end accounts) and we offer a Self-Assessment Tax Return service.
4) Are you able to offer tax advice?
Qualified bookkeepers, although accomplished professionals, are not qualified tax advisers. Whilst Accubooks Ltd can prepare the Self-Assessment Tax Returns of most individuals (including Partnership Returns) and give some basic tax advice in connection with them, when it comes to the more complex personal Tax Returns, or tax planning issues and all tax matters pertaining to limited companies, the services of a qualified tax consultant will need to be engaged. Having said that, the requirements of the average individual, running a small unincorporated business, are well within the scope of services offered by Accubooks Ltd - at a vastly reduced cost compared to a firm of accountants.
If you require specialised tax advice we can thoroughly recommend the services of On The Spot Tax Ltd: www.onthespottax.co.uk/
5) Why should I consider outsourcing my bookkeeping?
The costs involved with employing an 'in-house' bookkeeper can be quite high. Think of the costs of operating a PAYE scheme, staff training, covering sickness and holidays, etc. In addition, the accounting software can be very costly. Therefore engaging the services of Accubooks Ltd can save you time and money, as well as relieve you of a potential headache!
6) Will you be able to work at my offices?
We recognise that in some cases it is logistically necessary to work at a client's offices. However, in order to operate at optimum efficiency, we do prefer to work from our office. With the array of cloud computing solutions now available, this should not present a problem to the majority of our clients.
7) What areas do you cover?
Although based near Worthing, West Sussex, we offer our services throughout the Sussex area. In many cases, after an initial face-to-face consultation, it is quite possible to then conduct matters entirely via the post, phone and internet. Where it is required that we work at clients' premises, then our services will be limited to the Worthing area.
